Five Things to do in Mooresville

Five Things to do in Mooresville

Over the last 10 years Mooresville, NC has boomed and while your options on a Saturday used to be limited there are now all kinds of things to do. Here are five things to do in Mooresville we truly enjoy. Try to make it a point to visit these this year and support our local small businesses.

  1. Lazy 5 Ranch
The Lazy 5 Ranch is a privately owned exotic animal drive thru park that offers a 3.5 mile safari through the gently sloping pasturelands of Piedmont, North Carolina. While visiting the Lazy 5 Ranch you will have the opportunity to view over 750 animals from six different continents. You can see these animals from the safety of your own car or call for reservations on our horse drawn wagons. And be sure to bring your camera! This is a drive-through experience unique to North Carolina. There is no other collection of animals like this in the Southeast.

  2. Lake Norman State Park
At Lake Norman State Park, fun is just a matter of scale. On one hand, there's the largest manmade lake in the state, Lake Norman. When filled to capacity, its surface area is 32,510 acres with a shoreline of 520 miles and a main channel 34 miles in length — thus its nickname, the "Inland Sea." Thirteen miles of the shoreline are in the state park, which provides boating access.

  3. Queen's Landing
Looking for a new and improved way to let that someone special know just how much you love them? Bring them to Queen's Landing! Enjoy lunch on either the "Catawba Queen" their Mississippi riverboat, or "The Lady of the Lake" their 90ft yacht. Prefer to stay on dry land? No problem! Enjoy a round of miniature golf, an event at the Melanie L. Williams Amphitheater, or a drink at Joker's Dueling Piano Bar.

  4. The PIT
The PIT INDOOR KART RACING is one of North Carolina’s premier entertainment destinations. With over 140,000 square-feet of floor space, The Pit can provide excitement for any age group.

  5. Memory Lane Motorsports & Historic Automotive Museum
If you cherish automobiles, racing or history, this museum has something for you. According to Donald Farr, editor of Super Ford Magazine, “Memory Lane Museum has the largest private collection of retired Nascar and vintage race cars on display in existence." View the history of the automobile from the buggy through the present day.  View the history of Stock Car Racing from the early moonshine era to super speedways. View many one of a kind items never before displayed including a large collection of antique toys, pedal cars, bicycles, gas pumps, movie cars, tractors and vintage motorcycles.
