Our Towns Habitat is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical Christian ministry, working to eliminate substandard housing in our communities and the world.

 

We are one of over 1500 affiliates in the U.S., and we serve families in the towns of Mooresville, Davidson, Cornelius, and Huntersville, NC. We were chosen Affiliate of the Year in 2008 by Habitat for Humanity International!

 

Our Towns Habitat partners with hard working families in need of decent, affordable housing, and with local churches, businesses, service groups and individuals.

 

 

Our homeowners build and purchase their houses through no-profit, no-interest mortgages while contributing hundreds of hours of sweat equity labor working on their house and the houses of others. Mortgage payments are placed in a revolving Fund for Humanity to finance the construction of even more houses.

 

Our Towns Habitat was founded in 1988. As of November 2009, we have built safe, decent, affordable homes in partnership with 168 families locally, 751 in Guatemalaand 15 in Sri Lanka.

  1. Safe is not a word I would use for the Habitat houses on Sharpe street. There is a drug house on the street and the Habitat homeowners are being threatened and their beloved pets murdered by the drug lords on the street.

    There are children at risk in these homes and something needs to be done about it before one of the innocent children or their parents are murdered in their 'safe' homes.
